Taijiwuxigong
For health and happiness
There are many different styles of Qigong, each with its own unique approach and focus. Taijiwuxigong is a complete system of Qigong founded by Dr Shen Hongxun, combining gentle daoyin exercises with the body's natural ability to release tension through spontaneous movement.
Originating from the principles of Tai Chi and developed through Dr Shen's many years of research, study and practice, this system offers a simple yet profoundly effective way to support health, vitality and personal development.
A practice that creates space
The daoyin exercises encourage length through the spine and create space throughout the body—in the joints, between the vertebrae, and even in the heart and mind. Many people experience a growing sense of openness, clarity and emotional balance as they practise.
Students learn to activate the body's energy centres, known as the dantiens, through correct standing positions, breathing and mental focus. As energy develops in the lower dantien, the body's natural energy pathways begin to open, supporting the release of accumulated tension and stagnation.
Working with the body's natural healing ability
As practice deepens, spontaneous movement may arise naturally. These movements - and sometimes sounds - are an important part of the system, helping the body let go of physical and emotional tension that has built up over time. In the Buqi system, this process supports the clearing of heavy, unhelpful energies (binqi), allowing the body's own self-healing mechanisms to work more freely.
Rather than forcing change, Taijiwuxigong works with the body's innate intelligence, creating the conditions for greater balance, resilience and wellbeing.
Benefits of regular practice
Modern life places constant demands on our posture, nervous system and overall health. Stress and habitual movement patterns can become deeply ingrained, affecting how we move, breathe and feel.
Regular practice of Taijiwuxigong can help:
- Improve posture and spinal alignment
- Release physical and emotional tension
- Support a calmer, more balanced nervous system
- Increase vitality and energy
- Encourage emotional wellbeing and mental clarity
- Develop greater self-awareness and inner calm
Many people also find it a valuable support when recovering from long-standing health challenges, helping them cultivate greater ease, harmony and confidence in their own body's ability to heal.
